Hey there, lovely readers! I’m Sarah Shear, and I am beyond thrilled to welcome you to my blog. Let’s embark on a personal journey through the world of vegan food and culture together.

For over a decade, I have wholeheartedly embraced the beautiful vegan lifestyle. I went vegan my first year living in NYC and then went through phases of flirting with vegetarianism before I committed to the vegan life in 2015. The vegan community of NYC has a unique spirit of togetherness, and it became such a huge part of my identity. The NYC vegan community helped me understand the importance of supporting businesses that align with our values, rallying together to advocate for vegan causes, and creating spaces where we can share delicious food ideas and impactful calls to action. Because of this there’s clearly defined ‘vegan areas’ of NYC, I think recently it’s become a bit more integrated- but you’re still more likely to stumble upon a vegan restaurant than find a vegan item at your local deli. And forget about Veganuary.

In 2019, life led me across the pond to the enchanting city of London. Little did I know that this journey would open my eyes to the contrasting world of the London vegan community. In this vibrant city, veganism is already so integrated into the fabric of everyday life. It feels like everyone here is aware of the incredible benefits of plant-based foods, whether it’s for their well-being, the health of our planet, or simply staying on-trend. I mean, you can practically walk into any coffee shop in London and find yourself a mouthwatering vegan sandwich! And as much as I love the ease of finding vegan products in London, I miss the community aspect that NYC vegans are practically ushered into because they have these vegan spaces they had to carve out for themselves.

Four years in London, and honestly I’m still the NYC vegan girl at heart. And that’s why I created this blog. I want to bridge the gaps between vegan communities worldwide and make all the vegans out there feel a little closer together. Through my writing, I’ll be sharing my absolute favorite vegan-friendly restaurants, beauty products that make you glow from the inside out, and anything else that brings us joy and solidarity on our plant-based journeys.

Together, we’ll explore the diverse range of vegan cuisine, unearth hidden gems, and create an inclusive global network of kind-hearted souls.

Thank you from the bottom of my plant-loving heart for joining me on this extraordinary adventure. I can’t wait to connect with each and every one of you and share the wonders of veganism in the most personal and heartfelt way.

Adventures await,

xo Shear
